When it comes to clothing, I have styles I like and styles I LOVE. Let's talk about what I am actually wearing every day.

As you may have seen on my About page, I love to default to a solid-black outfit with a houndstooth blazer on top. It helps to break up the dark, fitted clothing with something a little different. Check out this similar layer you can add to your everyday wardrobe.

I know, I know. There's white in the houndstooth pattern. Look: sometimes it is unavoidable to break in the solid black theme, and this is my favorite pattern. Pair it with some solid black pieces and chunky shoes, and you'll be fine. It's such a good go-to outfit for the days I don't want to think too hard about what style I want to go for.

Another piece I love to include in my wardrobe is a Victorian style blouse with a tie collar. It adds such a nice touch of femininity to an otherwise neutral outfit. My favorite way to wear this style is with a sweater vest over the top. Personally, I like to opt for a colored blouse to go underneath. While the blouse could definitely be worn on its own, adding the vest creates a nice shape and breaks up the large amount of color.

Check out this satin blouse on Amazon! This is an amazing chance to play with texture in your outfits. The soft and delicate touches this brings creates more contrast and interest. To enhance the feminine side, pair with a black pencil skirt and opt for an updo. To downplay it, pair it with trousers and some platform loafers.

However, I am still yet to find the perfect black pencil skirt to wear to work. Somewhere between professional and pretty, edgy and feminine. Keep an eye on the blog for updates as I begin my hunt across the internet for my next wardrobe staple.
